Welcome to How Simple Is That.

Simplifying our lives is a process that starts with a close-up look at ourselves. It's a matter of selecting the things we really want to have...and letting the rest go.  It's a simple process, but it is not easy. In fact, the first step is the hardest.  It can be threatening to really take a closer look. Usually, we'd rather just keep moving. It can be disturbing to stop...or even to slow down - for a better view.
So, we don't.

How Simple Is That offers tips & suggestions, recommends products & services and shares resources & information to help simplify your life.

So, now it’s time to take a breath, relax and take five minutes to really think about how you can find ways to make life a little easier and much more enjoyable. With these steps and a little perseverance, you can find the ultimate bliss in taking time to simplify your life.

1. Get organized and Declutter - When you’re organized, everything is easier. Getting organized will help you stop wasting time and help you feel calm and more in control. Devote a few hours every week to getting -- and staying -- organized. If you haven't used something in the last two years, donate it or sell it. You will be surprised as how a decluttered home will lessen stress and can simplify your life.

2. Manage Time - Just Say No. If outside commitments are making your life feel hectic or out of control, review everything you do and choose several things to cut back on. Figure out what’s important to you and make sure your schedule reflects this.

3. Streamline Daily Activities - You may be amazed at how much time and energy you can recover if you figure out ways to streamline your everyday activities. You can easily reduce mealtime prep or simplify cleaning by planning ahead, having the right tools and sticking to a routine.

4. Get Other Family Members Involved - It’s hard to simplify your life if your family isn’t involved. Talk with your partner or children about why it’s important to make changes that will simplify your life and ask for their ideas, too.

5. Self Improvement - One of the most dramatic ways to simplify your life doesn’t even involve changing your habits. It’s about changing the way you think. Practice trying to let go of things you can’t control, whether it’s a traffic jam on the way to work or your co-worker’s negative attitude. Learning to focus on what you can control.

6. Products and Services That Can Help - Get help. Remember that there are lots of resources out there to help you simplify, organize, and take control of your life. You can read books, get great tips from friends who seem to have it all together, or search online for more helpful information.

Simplifying is not about depriving yourself of anything that truly matters to you. It's about cherishing -- and tending -- the things, events and people that sustain you and bring you joy. And it's about having the courage to let the rest go.

Should a person strive towards a state of life in which he can enjoy the maximum pleasure with the minimum effort, or should he prefer a life of constant toil and maximum achievement.
